A Quick Note Before You Sail
A Komodo tour is a sailing adventure — and that’s exactly what makes it worth doing. But it’s also fundamentally different from staying at a 5-star hotel. Whether you’re on a Superior, Deluxe, or Luxury Phinisi, the ocean sets some of the terms: weather can shift, seas can get rougher than expected, and conditions along the way may occasionally be less comfortable than planned. This isn’t specific to any one boat class — it’s simply the nature of an adventure trip at sea.
We’d rather tell you this upfront than have it surprise you mid-trip. Going in with realistic expectations, and letting safety take priority over strict comfort when conditions call for it, is what actually makes for the best experience — because the story you’ll remember is the adventure itself, not a guarantee that every hour felt like a resort.
Do's & Don'ts Before You Sail
A Komodo tour is an open-water adventure — a little preparation goes a long way toward the best experience.
Do
- Keep your expectations realistic — this is an open-water adventure, not a 5-star hotel stay.
- Follow your crew and guide's instructions, especially when conditions change.
- Pack layers — it can be hot at midday and cool and windy at night on the water.
- Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, and a personal towel — what's provided on board depends on the boat class you book, so check your inclusions and bring your own just in case.
- Bring seasickness medication if you're prone to motion sickness, just in case.
- Stay flexible with the itinerary — routes may adjust for weather and sea safety.
Don't
- Don't expect resort-level comfort on any boat class — Superior, Deluxe, or Luxury.
- Don't assume the sea will be calm the whole trip — weather can shift with little warning.
- Don't pack only for perfect weather — bring a rain jacket and warm layer just in case.
- Don't ignore safety briefings or crew instructions during rough conditions.
- Don't book tight flights or connections right after your trip, in case of weather delays.
Popular Komodo Experiences
For travelers who want to go deeper. Beyond the standard route, this trip adds Gili Lawa and Kanawa Island alongside Padar, Rinca, Komodo Island, and Pink Beach — more time in the water, less rushing between stops.
Our most balanced option. Two full nights on the water means an easy first day, then the “postcard day” — Padar Island’s iconic viewpoint and manta ray snorkeling — without feeling rushed.
Our most popular choice. An overnight on the boat gets you to Padar Island and dragon trekking before the day-trip crowds arrive, plus Kalong Island’s sunset bat flight.
Short on time? This covers Komodo’s highlights — Padar Island, Pink Beach, Manta Point, and dragon trekking — in a single day by speedboat.

Popular Destinations
A UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the Komodo dragon, the world’s largest living lizard — found nowhere else on Earth outside this park.
One of only a handful of pink-sand beaches in the world, colored by crushed red coral mixing with white sand.
A small island known for calm, clear water — a great early-route snorkeling stop before reaching the park’s bigger sites.
A shifting sandbar in the middle of open water — no permanent land, just a strip of white sand surrounded by turquoise sea, best visited at low tide.
Best seen at sunset, when thousands of flying foxes (giant fruit bats) take off from the mangroves in a dramatic evening flight.
Carefully selected boats across different comfort levels and travel styles.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before you book your Komodo tour.
Prices start from IDR 1,350,000/pax for a one-day Superior-class speedboat trip, and from IDR 2,750,000/pax for a Superior-class liveaboard. Deluxe and Luxury boats run higher depending on the trip length and boat.
Superior boats have shared cabins and basic facilities at the lowest price point. Deluxe adds more comfort and cabin space. Luxury Phinisi boats offer private cabins and premium finishes.
If you only have one day, the speedboat tour covers the highlights. Most travelers choose the 2D1N or 3D2N liveaboard for a more relaxed pace with an overnight on the water. The 4D3N adds Gili Lawa and Kanawa Island for travelers who want to see more.
Yes — but it's an open-water adventure trip, not a resort stay. Weather and sea conditions can change, and our crews prioritize safety over schedule whenever conditions call for it. We'd rather explain this upfront than have it surprise you mid-trip.
Hotel/airport transfers, meals for the duration of the trip, drinking water, snorkeling gear, and an English-speaking guide. Liveaboard trips add onboard accommodation. National park and ranger fees are billed separately at current government rates.
Open trip means you join a shared boat with other travelers, priced per person. Private trip means you charter the whole boat for your group, priced per boat rather than per pax.
Browse the boat and trip options on this site, then click "Book now" or contact our team directly — we'll confirm availability, pricing, and help you pick the right boat for your travel style.
